C. J. Linton is a game designer, writer, and dramaturg from the San Gabriel Valley with a focus on science fiction, digital sociology, and trans work.
He is the co-designer of the science fiction tabletop roleplaying game Tomorrow on Revelation III with Dominique Dickey, about surviving and building community on a hyper-capitalist space station. His other games include Those of Us Who Know Better (about trans superheroes) and Bring Down the House (about being a haunted object).
As a theatre-maker, he has worked in dramaturgy, marketing and publicity, and stage and production management. Most recently, he was a Dramaturgy and Literary Management Apprentice with the Professional Training Company at Actors Theatre of Louisville. He has previously worked for Center Theatre Group, Studio Theatre, and Olney Theatre Center. At Johns Hopkins University, he served as the Executive Producer of Witness Theater for two seasons and received an Arts Innovation Grant to produce a world premiere at the 2018 Charm City Fringe Festival.
Beyond theatre, C.J. has worked in communications and as a writing tutor. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Sociology from Johns Hopkins University, where he researched economics in 1980s American cyberpunk and independent bookstores in the Amazon Age.
His work explores themes of transformation, intentional space construction, and making difficult choices in impossible circumstances. He is a big fan of robots & cyborgs. You can find him on Twitter, Instagram, and itch.io @NearFutures.
