hello! I’m C. J. Linton, a game designer, writer, dramaturg, and editor from the San Gabriel Valley who creates work about transformation & transition, robots & cyborgs, community sociology & infrastructure, and making difficult choices in impossible circumstances.
I am one half of the game company Sly Robot Games with Dominique Dickey, which has published Tomorrow on Revelation III (about surviving capitalism and space) and Plant Girl Game (about community and working to stop climate change). My other games include Those of Us Who Know Better (about trans superheroes) and Bring Down the House (about being a haunted object).
I was the Dramaturgy and Literary Management Apprentice with the Professional Training Company at Actors Theatre of Louisville in 2020, and have worked for Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Center Theatre Group, Studio Theatre, and Olney Theatre Center. At Johns Hopkins, I served as the Executive Producer of Witness Theater for two seasons developing and producing new student work, and received an Arts Innovation Grant to produce a new play at the 2018 Charm City Fringe Festival.
You can read my essay about transformers as trans fantasy in Uncanny Magazine.

I am passionate about spreadsheets, baking cupcakes, and cyberpunk literature. More about the type of projects I’m interested in here: please get in touch if you want to work together. You can find me on Twitter, Instagram, and itch.io @NearFutures and on Tumblr at cjlinton.tumblr.com.
